Thirty Tigers was co-founded in 2002 by industry veterans David Macias and Deb Markland, who shared a love of music and marketing and the belief that the onslaught of major label consolidation combined with advances in technology would result in many viable artists joining the ranks of the independent world.
In November 2009, Thirty Tigers entered a digital fulfillment agreement with TopSpin Media. Our arrangement with Thirty Tigers was to manage a full technology platform for their artists, incorporating TopSpin and other third party services. This included the management and marketing of products (both physical and digital) through email lists, social networks, and through artist websties.
Our initial task was to become TopSpin certified, master the platform, and determine the ideal positioning and placement of TopSpin widgets. Next we met with Thirty Tigers artists individually to determine their online strategy. Where did their fans work and play? What products we could market and sell on the artists’ behalf?
After we gathered this info, we went into action building websites, tying together social media and creating promotions to drive traffic and revenue.
Our work resulted in the creation of a dozen new artist websites and management of up to ten artist profiles on TopSpin. We marketed to over 40,000 fans generating thousands of dollars in revenue.
Additionally, we were able to implement websites for several of these artists utilizing WordPress and TopSpin together. Our experience in community management and targeted marketing culminated in numerous successful campaigns.
